Honda Headunit Hacks - Android Auto for Civic IX FK2/FK3
What do you need?
Hardware and Pre-req
- FAT32 formatted USB Drive
- Computer to download the APK files and load onto the USB Drive
- USB Cable for Android Auto connection
- Android phone with Android Auto capability
Software
- OpenDriodAuto - For Android Auto connection
- Honda Permissions - For allowing the OpenDroidAuto to run while driving
- Download "HR-V PERMISSIONS 1.1 S_Mike" from https://www.cmdroid.com
Steps
- Format your USB Drive as FAT32
- Download OpenDroidAuto apk file and copy to USB Drive
- Plug the USB Drive to the Car
- On the headunit / infotainment system, click "Install App"
- It will automatically search the files on your USB Drive, choose the apk file HondaAppCentre_A1.apk
(it is always the same file name for the system to pick up the app file) - Repeat 2 to 5 for Honda Permissions
- Open Honda Permissions > Process Control > "+" button
- Enter process name and package name as "it.smg.hu" (No quotes)
- Auth Type - THIRD_PARTY
- App Type - OTHER
- Video Out - OFF
- Sound Out - Checked
- Last Mode - Checked
- Save
- Connect your phone to the car by USB Cable and open OpenDroidAuto
- Check the default checkbox when it prompts "Open OpenDroidAuto when this USB device is connected?" and click OK
- Start
- Good to go!
